POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and guided by the values and objectives of the Agency, the Finance Director supports the leadership, management and strategic vision of the financial performance of the Agency. Coordinates with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Program Officer in the development of short and long range financial plans. Accountable for overall fiscal operations including, but not limited to, establishing and maintaining internal controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems to effectively support Agency growth and financial sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Provides strategic financial input and leadership on issues affecting the Agency.
- Works closely with the CFO to plan, develop, implement, direct and evaluate the Agency’s fiscal function and performance.
- Provides timely review and analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends in order to assist the CFO in performing their responsibilities.
- Coordinates with the CFO to drive the standardization and improvement of financial and planning processes.
- Oversees Accounting Manager in providing education on financial issues impacting their budgets/programs. Identifies opportunities to optimize reimbursement within compliance guidelines.
- Oversees the Accounting Manager in developing annual budgets and other forecasts of revenue and expenses.
- Partners with the CEO and CFO to develop and implement financial plans and budgets.
- In collaboration with the Accounting Manager and other members of the Leadership ensures compliance with health information and regulations as required.
- Identifies opportunities to standardize processes and procedures.
- Oversees the Accounting Manager responsibility for audits with independent auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Optimizes the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiates appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. Monitors the cash flow projection process which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Acts as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Agency may enter.
- Evaluates team for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group. Supports and provide individuals opportunities for professional and personal growth.
- Supports the risk management function at the Agency, including insurance coverage as required.
- Attends Finance Committee and Board meetings as necessary.
